Mayan Calendar
The end date of the Mayan calendar, which corresponds to the winter solstice that occurs when the sun travels through the intersection of the ecliptic and the Milky Way, is December 21, 2012.
Some people think this is the end of the world since the Mayans had a very long span of thousands of years for this calendar. Actually, the truth is much more exciting. They calculated at a time when the Western World was sure the earth was flat a solar event thousands of years in the future.
Besides, I thought Christianity was the big "End of the World" cult.
