Ghosts
I heard something that made a lot of sense the other day. A suicide victim is going to be the least likely person to hang around, despite popular urban legend.
Think about it; someone wants to get away so bad they kill themselves. They aren't going to stay around for the scenery. They're following the light.
The kind of spirits that stay are going to be the ones that hadn't realized they died yet, or are strongly connected to a person or location.
Well, you have to believe in ghosts first.

Justice
When our founding fathers conceived the concept of "Beyond reasonable doubt" they understood many guilty may have to go free to protect one innocent person. The tragedies in our county are not the O.J. Simpsons of the world, but the hundred of nameless innocent individuals who are convicted.
